About our camp

Camp Save-a-Watt is PEC’s free, virtual summer camp developed and put on by our experts for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Through hands-on weekly lessons, students learn about energy conservation, nature, and electrical safety. The program focuses on teaching youth about the importance of saving energy in everyday life, both at home and at school. With the help of parents and teachers, Camp Save-a-Watt can help our youngest members learn important tips to reduce their energy use and help schools and parents save money. The virtual camp also features in-person events, like our famous Solar Car Derby and the chance to meet a lineworker and Wattson Raccoon!

New this year is the Egg Drop Challenge. Bring your own design!

Campers will put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building an egg-protecting contraption using recycled materials at home. Campers will test the effectiveness of their design as they watch it drop from a PEC bucket truck. Eggs will be provided by PEC on-site. Will your egg survive the fall? Registration opens July 1.
